Maker of Embedded Security and Digital Rights Management Solutions Cites Increased Demand for Mobile Content Protection and Flash Storage Security, Rapid Expansion into New Vertical Markets, and Targeting a Wider Range of Portable Devices
SAN MATEO, CA — November 4, 2008 -
Discretix, the leading provider of Embedded
Security and Digital Rights Management
(DRM) solutions for mobile devices
and flash memory, today announced
that it was ranked among the 2008
Deloitte Israel Technology Fast 50, a ranking of the 50
fastest growing technology companies in Israel.
To determine the fastest growing companies, Deloitte reviewed
fiscal year revenues over five years (2003-2007), calculated
the revenue growth percentage over five years, and compared
the growth of technology companies. Discretix recorded a doubling
of its revenue in the first half of 2008, driven by a string
of design wins as well as increased business from existing
accounts. The company is experiencing a surge in activity
across many of its customer categories, from flash cards and
USB drives to mobile handsets, smart phones and Solid State
Disks (SSDs), as consumers and OEMs alike embrace broad new
forms of mobile content and Flash based storage.
In recent months, Discretix has also expanded its offerings
to address interest from manufacturers and network operators
in new technologies like mobile TV,
on-demand entertainment, Web 2.0 services and geo-targeted
content. These services, delivered over a wider range of consumer
electronics devices like Ultra Mobile PCs (UMPCs) and Mobile
Internet Devices (MIDs), are giving rise to new vertical markets
and increased business opportunities for content protection
providers.
“Discretix’ portfolio of embedded security solutions continues
to set the standard, as evidenced by the unprecedented interest
in our products from customers both existing and new,” said
Gal Solomon, CEO and founder of Discretix. “Reliability, efficiency,
flexibility and quick time-to-market have always been the
standards we’ve set for our solutions. Clearly our existing
customers embrace these traits—and it’s our intention to deliver
such benefits in every new segment we enter.”
“Making the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 is a testament to
a company’s commitment to technology”, said Asher Mechlovich,
partner in charge of the Deloitte Brightman Almagor Zohar
Israel Technology Fast 50 Program. “With its 591% growth rate
over five years, Discretix has proven that its leadership
has the vision and determination to grow in difficult conditions.”
